Click the keyboard above, then press each key on your Brazilian keyboard. Working keys light up and stay tinted, and the counter shows your progress.
Check the special keys
Press ç, ã, õ, á, é, í, ó, ú, the dead keys and the extra key near the right Shift. Try Shift and Alt Gr combinations as well, since many characters need them.
Match your keyboard
Choose Windows or Mac, and ISO if your keyboard has an extra key next to the left Shift, so the keyboard on screen matches yours.
About the Brazilian keyboard
Brazilian keyboards use the ABNT2 layout. It is a QWERTY layout with a ç key next to L, a dead key for accents and an extra key next to the right Shift that types the slash and question mark.
The tester follows the physical key you press, so it shows whether the key itself works. The character that appears in a document depends on the layout selected in Windows or macOS. If the right key lights up but the wrong character appears, change your language setting. Our guide to the keyboard layout explains the standard rows and special keys.

- Click Add a language and install Portuguese (Brazil).
- Open its options and add the Portuguese (Brazil ABNT2) keyboard.
- Switch between layouts with the Windows key + Space.
On a Mac
- Open System Settings and click Keyboard.
- Click Edit next to Input Sources.

A key does nothing

The keyboard keeps disconnecting
Replace the batteries, move closer to the computer and pair your wireless keyboard again.
Frequently asked questions
How do I test my Brazilian keyboard online?
Click the keyboard tester at the top of this page and press every key. Each working key lights up and stays tinted. Pay special attention to ç, ã, õ, á, é, í, ó, ú, the dead keys and the extra key near the right Shift.
Why does my Brazilian keyboard type the wrong characters?
